Description
This powerful fine art photograph captures the Sphinx of Memphis, one of the oldest and most historically significant sphinx statues in Egypt. Carved from a single block of limestone, this remarkable sculpture dates from Egypt’s New Kingdom period, believed to have been created between approximately 1341 and 1200 BC during the 18th Dynasty.
Located in Memphis, the ancient capital of Egypt and now a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the sphinx represents strength, protection, and royal authority. Unlike the Great Sphinx of Giza, which is carved directly from bedrock, the Memphis Sphinx is a freestanding sculpture, showcasing the advanced craftsmanship of ancient Egyptian artisans.
Framed historical art print.
