Norway’s landscape is the result of powerful glacial activity over multiple ice ages. Massive glaciers carved deep valleys that later filled with seawater, forming the iconic fjords. Above these fjords lie expansive plateaus — windswept, often treeless, and scattered with thousands of alpine lakes.
